Hi, I’m Sarah Damian — creator of Sunny Paths, mom to a joyful toddler, and lifelong lover of music, art, and older adults.

I’ve worked in senior living for over a decade, beginning as a chef in a memory care community while still in college. The residents quickly captured my heart, and when I asked if I could volunteer in the activity department, I was offered a job instead.

What began as a part time job became a lifetime calling.

I spent the next several years as an Active Living Director in both memory care and assisted living, and later as a Business Office Manager in independent senior living. I’ve loved every role, but my heart has always been in activities—creating joyful moments, building community, and making every day meaningful.

After taking a break to start my family, I launched Sunny Paths to return to my passion serving seniors—while maintaining the flexibility to be home with my son. Through mobile programs like Sunny Studio: Paint & Snack and Sunshine Circle: Sensory Singalongs for Memory Care, I get to share my love for creativity and connection in a way that’s both personal and powerful.

Music and art have been constants in my life. I’ve sung in church, choirs, musicals, and family harmonies since childhood, and I truly believe that music is magic—it unlocks memories, calms the heart, and bridges the gaps words can’t always cross. My love of art comes from my mom, a talented artist who raised me to see beauty in expression, color, and creativity. Both music and art are sacred to me, and I love using them to light up lives.
